LET'S PLEDGE TO SAVE A LIFE

Donate Organs Save Life:

What is Organ Donation?

Organ donation is a noble act which gives us an opportunity to save many lives after our death. The donated organs are transplanted into patients who are suffering from end stage organ failure. As many patients suffer from end stage diseases of various organs, organ donation is the only ray of hope for them.

What is Organ Transplantation?

Human organ transplantation is the achievement of modern medical science where through surgical procedure the healthy organ from through surgical procedure the healthy organ from a living or dead person implanted in an individual suffering from end stage organ failure. This is an established surgical treatment available for the needy patients.

Which organ can be donated?

The vital organs like heart, liver, two kidneys, pancreas, intestine, lings etc. can be donated only if we die a brain death. However, cornea (eyes), skin and other tissues can be donated after cardiac death.

Why has Jeevanvidya Mission started Organ Donation Campaign ?

To increase the numbers organ transplants in our country and to meet the demand of organs it is very pivotal to spread the awareness of organ donation in society. In recent times many social organisations are actively participating for the cause. Well recognised for its social and educational initiatives, JEEVANVIDYA MISSION founded by SATGURU SHREE WAMANRAO PAI is doing a phenomenal work by successfully implementing organ donation campaign throughout Maharashtra. We owe something to the society in which we live in, hence as a part of paying our gratitude towards the society Jeevanvidya Mission with joints efforts with Zonal Transplant Co-ordination Centre (ZTCC)-Govt. of Maharashtra, is currently working for the promotion of Organ donation campaign to raise the awareness among individuals.

In many social events, volunteers of Jeevenvidya Mission discuss the importance of organ donation to communities. The positive outcomes of this relentless efforts are since the beginning of the campaign in April 2017, more than 15000 individuals have signed the consent letter and taken a pledge to donate their organs. To appreciate this massive response 'Public Health Department Government of Maharashtra and Zonal Transplant Co-ordination Centre, has awarded Jeevanvidya Mission with a certification of appreciation on 31 March, 2018
